Three quarters of the Thai Hon Tour Season 4 are officially in the books now, with the Cycle 3 Grand Finals taking place earlier today at the Garena Studios in Bangkok, Thailand. Invited to the LAN event were the three top teams of the Cycle 3 regular season - Snoop Dogg, Neolution eSports.MRR and Turtle Master. For all three plenty was on the line. Not just the honor of winning one of the cycles, but also improving their position for the close Season 4 postseason events. All three already have their spot locked up for the postseason events, so only placement was up for discussion.

For Turtle Master, early elimination in the Semifinals spelled doom for their chances to improve their seed any more. With only 2000 points added to their total, they will end the season with 6100 points. This puts them ahead of rival Hybrid Gaming for just one day, since they will have the time to respond in the Cycle 4 Grand Finals event tomorrow. However that turns out, Hybrid Gaming have already locked up at least 2000 points as well, giving them a lock for the third overall seed.

For Turtle Master it was the poor finish to their otherwise solid performance across the board in Season 4. With two trips to the Garena studios on Championship Weekends and a fourth place finish in Cycle 2, the GSL 2013 discovery was close to making this their complete comeback season and making it to the top of the food chain in Thailand. Unfortunately for them, they appear to have run out of gas towards the finish line, ending the fourth cycle with a disappointing eighth place and netting themselves only points 600 total. A blunder like that is hard to excuse over Hybrid Gaming, who had their slump in Cycle 2 with the sixth place, but made up for it with the cushion the runner-up spot in the first cycle gave them.

The chase for the third spot in the final standings of the Thai division is over already, alongside the race for the #1 overall seed. With Snoop Dogg winning the first and now third cycle, they have an insurmountable lead towards Neolution eSports.MRR. Looking back at the season, the first cycle was what hurt Neo.MRR the most. In the debut of Season 4, the DreamHack Summer 2015 Champions couldn’t really get themselves into a good position, placing only fifth in the regular season. Even a team struggling and playing rather mediocre at times, Get Together, could beat the legends out in the first cycle - making them lose precious ground to their rivals already.

In the end it was a point swing of 2800 points, an amount they just couldn’t recover from. With their defeat in the Grand Finals today by their arch-nemesis in Snoop Dogg once more, the cookie has crumbled. The damage was done, nothing could make up for it anymore. Neolution eSports.MRR had a chance to fight back and repair the situation by themselves, but a 1-3 loss in the Grand Finals of the third cycle spelled doom for their chances of not only reclaiming the top seed in the final standings, but only the top spot in the entire Thai division.

With all this being said, tomorrow’s showcase of the three best teams in Cycle 4 will have only one storyline heading into it. The chase will only be on for the cycle title, not for any bigger agenda. The fight to gain momentum and confidence will be the biggest factor when Snoop Dogg and Hybrid Gaming square off tomorrow on the Garena Thai HoN Tour channel on Youtube to start the Grand Finals day. The winner of that bout will fight Neolution eSports.MRR later on that day, a total of eight maps of Thai HoN action are possible.

So make sure you are awake and ready for the big conclusion of the regular season portion in the Thai HoN Tour Season 4. Coverage starts once more at 5 AM CET (November 12th) / 11 PM EDT (November 11th) live at Thailand HoN Tour's YouTube stream.
