Watch the Match here.

Game 1

In the first game, we had compLexity on the Legion side, with bkid on Rally, Franzzii on Master of Arms, Haxxeren with Moon Queen, Riser_ with Ophelia and MoonMeander with Magmus. On the Hellbourne side we had ex-tdM with Mynuts on Tempest, Fittske on Pyromancer, Limmp with Deadwood, zai` on Bubbles and noobG with Jereziah.

The game started out in a pretty standard manner, no team tried anything fancy and instead went on solid lanes. Around the sixth minute, Moon Queen managed to get the bloodlust in Bubbles, slightly putting complexity ahead. Two towers were destroyed shortly after, one for each game. Until the 15th minute, the game was pretty even, no team was standing out really and only an Energizer on Moon Queen was really worth mentioning.

The coziness was ended when tdm decided to push the middle lane, taking out the secondary tower and forcing complexity into a huge teamfight, with Tempest pulling off an awesome ultimate. But thanks to her Energizer, Moon Queen was able to just burst into the cluster of enemy heroes and take out several of them together with magmus, turning the fight around in favor of complexity.

Both teams recovered and went back to farming, the Legion more interested in playing it safe and Hellbourne taking out Kongor while they could. tdM seemed to be slightly ahead, but the Moon Queen on the Legion side had very good farm already. This became evident when tdM went to push the top lane and even though they had the initiative and the token, they lost the teamfight that erupted in the defense of the secondary tower, when Moon Queen demonstrated how much of an impact she was able to make. Two minutes later, tdM tried to get that secondary top tower again and finally succeeded in taking it down, moving on to lay siege on the base tower for a second. But they retreated before anything could happen, as they expected Moon Queen lurking somewhere nearby.

Around the 30 minute mark, complexity was ahead with 10-9 kills, but behind in xp, towers and played very defensively, waiting out the power spike in the mid game team of tdM. And they did well with that, waiting for the Hellbourne to come to them to then turn the action around, which happened right at the 30 minute mark. Moon Queen was simply too devastating for tdM to deal with and the fight that they initiated turned into disaster. The clock was ticking for tdM and they did not get through, no matter what they tried.

Now it was Complexity’s time to shine and they took the fight to the Hellbourne base, pushing the bottom lane and forcing a fight at the base tower. However, tdM refused to roll over and they stood and fight, fending off and killing Moon Queen and two other heroes. complexity tried again several minutes later, this time pushing the top lane, resulting in the destruction of the base tower and a quick retreat by complexity again. After some time of farming, a staring contest near Kongor resulted in an advantage for complexity, followed by Kongors demise and several attacks on the Hellbourne base. tdM fought valiantly but they lost their barracks to Moon Queen and got wiped out at the end, followed by a concede vote.

Complexity wins the first game!

Game 2

In the second game, tdM was on Legion side, with Mynuts on Tempest, Limmp on Deadwood, Fittske with Empath, zai` with Master of Arms and noobG on Bubbles. On the opposing side, complexity decided that bkid will play Rally, Franzzii with Nymphora, Haxxeren on Wretched Hag, Riser_ with Parasite and MoonMeander on Pharaoh.

Just like the first game, the second started out solid, with Moonmeander again being completely shut down in the suicide lane. And once again, the first blood happened around the sixth minute, when Bubbles took out Parasite. However, he was not happy for too long, because Parasite almost instantly exacted revenge by killing Bubbles after he respawned and tped in. Until the 15th minute several more hero kills on both sides happened, and several towers fell as well. And even though tdM was ahead in gold, the xp advantage was with complexity.

At the 15 minute mark, a good teamfight from tdM turned the stats even more in their favor, taking out several Hellbourne heroes with big plays. tdM made use of the momentum they gained in this teamfight in the minutes ahead, fending off a push from complexity and then pushed the middle lane themselves. Until the 25th minute, tdM was able to build up a very comfortable gold lead and with that in mind, they finally started to lay siege to the Hellbourne base. And whenever complexity stepped slightly out of position, tdM was ready to jump on them. This happened twice and shortly after, complexity called a vote concede.

And with this Trademark wins the second game, making it 1:1!

Game 3

In the third game of the series, complexity was on the Legion side again. They selected Rally for Bkid, Franzii chose Aluna, Haxxeren picked Draconis, Riser_ played Keeper of the Forest and MoonMeander played Bubbles. tdM on the Hellbourne side selected Tempest for Mynuts, Limp got Flux, Fittske played Engineer, zai` was on Magmus and finally noobG with Master of Arms.

Game number three had a surprisingly action packed start with bloodlust happening at 2:40, when Flux managed to take out Bubbles. But those who hoped for it to continue where sadly disappointed. The whole early game was slightly dominated by tdM, getting a few more kills, but both teams were extra careful at not really getting into any fights with each other. So instead they farmed alot to get core items on their heroes. This went on for a pretty long time, until both teams started pushing towers.

But again the two teams did not want to meet each other during these pushes, so there was not much interaction between the teams. The odd kill happened every now and then when someone went out of position or did not retreat fast enough, but after 25 Minutes it was still 4-5, with tdM slightly ahead. Around the 25th minute, Hellbourne went and killed Kongor without any opposition. The farm fest continued and even though all players seemed ready to jump into action at any time, nobody did, they all played very careful and rather retreated than taking a risk.

The game was now dominated by small skirmishes that ended with both sides retreating. A back and forth over and over again, with long farming breaks on both sides. Certainly a careful way to play and surely not the worst idea in a high stakes tournament like this one, but not exactly exciting for the viewers. So it took until the 37th minute for anything to happen. Both teams were lurking near Kongor, when another of these skirmishes erupted. Several skills missed and it went back and forth again until finally complexity was in a better position and their Draconis was able to put in some work. A genocide for complexity followed, along with the kill of Kongor and the destruction of the Hellbourne middle barracks. All of the sudden, complexity was way ahead. And after another assault on the Hellbourne base, complexity wiped out tdM again, resulting in tdM conceding the game.

Complexity wins game 3, making it 2:1 in their advantage!

Game 4

In the fourth game, tdM was on the Legion side again, selecting Parasite on Mynuts, Limmp picked Moraxus, Fittske picked Demented Shaman, zai`played with Moon Queen and noobG was on Bubbles. Their opponents, Complexity, picked Electrician for bkid, Master of Arms for Franzzii, Zephyr for Haxxeren, Ophelia for Riser_ and finally MoonMeander got Magmus.

The fourth game in the series starts out unusually fast paced, as Master of Arms managed to take out Bubbles way before the official start of the game. So this was an excellent start for complexity. But tdM did not let that slip unpunished and so right after the game started officially, Moon Queen took out poor Magmus. From now on it was the same game as we have seen in the games before, both teams playing carefully in the laning phase, pushing towers and retreating rather than risking any bad plays.

After 19 minutes we still had a kill score of 2-3, with complexity being ahead in gold because of 4 more tower kills. Indeed they pushed into the Legion base for a little bit around that time but eventually retreated again. Complexity was far ahead at this moment, but they did not use their momentum, allowed tdM to recover and defeat them in a big teamfight near the 27th minute. After that tdM simply killed Kongor and they were back in the game, even ahead by a bit now in the experience.

But as always, the game is a huge back and forth, not 5 minutes later, complexity won a new teamfight and managed to destroy the bottom barracks right after that victory, so now they were back in the lead again. Another attack from tdM was repelled by Complexity not long after and another stare contest at Kongor followed. The huge fight at Kongor that followed went pretty awfully for Complexity though and they were defeated badly, allowing tdM to finally get their late game advantage into play and not two minutes later, Complexity called a vote to concede.

Game 4 went to Trademark! 2:2!

Game 5

The final game of the series spotted two carry heroes, that had not been picked before. Complexity was on the Legion side again and they had bkid on Pebbles, Franzzii on Aluna, Haxxeren on Magebane, Riser_ on Keeper of the Forest and MoonMeander with Pharaoh. On the other side we had tdM with Mynuts on Tempest, Limmp with Bubbles, Fittske with Empath, zai` on Master of Arms and finally noobG with The Dark Lady.

With alot of money on the line, the fifth game of the series was bound to be an extremely carefully played game, as both teams had a lot to lose. This displayed on the picks and especially bans this game, as Draconis was outright banned, along with plenty of other heroes we saw the last couple of matches. Both teams go themselves a melee carry and a good jungler and with this they hoped to outplay one another. Of course not much would happen in the early game, so it took a while, until 4:40 for the bloodlust to happen, when Aluna and Magebane took out Bubbles.

Both carries, Magebane on Legion and The Dark Lady on Hellbourne were the focus on their own teams and Magebane had his Runed Cleaver after minute 10. Dark Lady was not far behind and both teams tried to outdo one another. And so the minutes passed and at the twenty minute mark, we were still 2-2 in kills. Finally a teamfight erupted at the bottom legion towers and despite a huge magebane ultimate, The Dark Lady got a quad kill off and pushed her team ahead a little. Still Complexity was ahead a bit and this was far from over.A clever pickoff around minute 28 got tdM ahead for real now, killing Pebbles and Aluna with a devastating Dark Lady and then easily killing Kongor in one swing. Complexity was in trouble now.

Legion tried everything to fend off The Dark Lady and her cohort, but at minute 33:00 it was for naught, even with two Keeper of the Forest ultimates they were unable to stop The Dark Lady with a token and they lost the middle barracks in the end. A prolonged fight between several heroes a few minutes further into the game resulted in the death of both Magebane and The Dark Lady, but Magebane had to buy back for that to happen and died again, so even though they finally killed The Dark Lady, they paid a hefty price. At minute 40 now, The Hellbourne once again killed Kongor and pushed the bottom lane, but had to retreat after a skirmish. And merely 3 minutes later, tdM was back, this time with double damage on the fully equipped Dark Lady. They now made short work of the bottom barracks and the Legion team as well, causing Complexity to vote to concede.

Trademark takes the fifth and last game and moves on to the finals tomorrow! Congrats to them!
