The Basics

Q. What is HoN Tour?

A. HoN Tour is the officially sanctioned competitive tour for Heroes of Newerth. Designed for professional and entry-level competition, Anyone Can Be A Hero. HoN Tour is a multi- event tournament series with a cash prize pool of approximately $330,000 for Season One. Season one begins October 2012 and ends April 2013. HoN Tour revolutionizes eSports by providing competitive gamers of all skill levels with consistent and frequent events designed to automatically place players in appropriate skill Divisions.

Q. What are the HoN Tour Divisions?

A. Each HoN Tour Season has four (4) Divisions: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Diamond. Once registered and competing, participants will automatically find themselves moving through each Division based on their HoN Tour Rank for Silver, Gold and Diamond, while Bronze remains an open division and anyone can sign up.

Q. Who can compete in HoN Tour ?

A. Since all matches will take place on the International (NA/EU) client, players must have access to that client to participate. While there are no other restrictions for participation, players residing in countries or areas that do not allow them to receive the prizes will have to forfeit their winnings.

The Format

Q. What is the HoN Tour format?

A. Season one of HoN Tour is comprised of a Qualifier, eight Event Cycles, and a live Grand Finals.

Q. What is the structure of the Qualifier?

A. In Season One, the Qualifier is an open tournament with unlimited registration. The Qualifier will be an online double elimination format tournament with a $10,000 prize pool. Registration for the Qualifier is open until October 17, 2012 11:59 pm EDT. The Qualifier will run from October 27 to November 18, 2012.

Q. How are teams divided into Divisions after the Qualifier?

A. You can find the seeding specifics at "2.1. Seeding for the first Cycle"

Q. How do teams move up or down in Division after each Event Cycle?

A. You can find more information at "2.2. Seeding for subsequent Cycles"

Q. If I miss the qualifier can I still participate in HoN Tour?

A. You can sign up for HoN Tour at any time and start in the Bronze Division.

Q. What is an Event Cycle and its structure?

A. You can find more information at "3.1. Cycles"

Q. What is the tournament format for each Division within an Event Cycle?

A. You can find more information at "3.2. Format of the Tournaments"

Q. How do I sign up for Bronze events?

A. The Monday after a cycle ends, registration for the Bronze events will open and teams have five days to register for it. Teams need to sign up for each Bronze event within a Season in order to participate in such events.

Q. Is my team automatically added to Silver, Gold and Diamond events?

A. Yes, unlike Bronze (where you, teams in the Diamond, Gold, and Silver Divisions are automatically registered for each event cycle and brackets are automatically populated, based on their rank.

Q. What is the prize pool for each Division within an Event Cycle?

A. Teams that compete in HoN Tour will earn cash prizes depending on their Rank and Division. For Prizing breakdown, see PRIZING.

Q. What is the structure of the live Grand Finals?

A. Each Event Cycle awards HoN Tour Points in addition to prizing. At the end of the Season (8 Event Cycles), the three teams with the most Points qualify for the live Grand Finals. Teams ranked 4th through 11th enter into a eight team playoff to determine the 4th and final team qualified for the finals. These top four teams will compete head-to-head in a live Grand Finals playoff event at a currently undisclosed location, featuring another $60,000 in prizing.

Q. If I missed the qualifier can I still participate in HoN Tour?

A. You can sign up for HoN Tour at any time and register for a Bronze event between any 2 Cycles.

Points

Q. What are HoN Tour Points?

A. At the end of each Event Cycle, teams earn HoN Tour Points (or simply "Points") based on their performance during that Event Cycle. Points are used to rank teams and seed teams in the following Event Cycle and the live Grand Finals.

Q. How many points can my team earn during an Event Cycle?

A. For the detailed distribution of HoN Tour Points prizing, please refer to PRIZING.

Q. What happens to the Points at the end of each Season?

A. Points expire after the end of each Season.

Rules

Q. What are the rules for the matches and where can I find them?

A. Official Rules can be viewed at Official Rules.

Q. Are there any set penalties?

A. You can find more information on set penalties (for forfeiting, disrespecting the rules, etc) at 9. Penalties from Official Rules.

Prizes

Q. Where can I find the Prizing Breakdown?

A. The Prizing Breakdown can be found HERE.

Q. When do we receive our prize?

A. All operations concerning payments will be processed Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4pm EST. As soon as your information is processed, you will receive your prize.

Q. Winning for the first time...

A. After the Cycle is finished, in order to receive your prize, please do the following:

1) On your team's profile page: input the Captain's Paypal address.

2) Once it is processed, a form will be will be sent to that e-mail address.

3) The Captain needs to fill out the form and send it back.
Note: If the Captain is NOT an United States resident: fill in your name and address and check the box on the third line marked "Exempt". If Captain is an US resident: fill out the entire form.

4) Once all this is processed, the prize will be sent as soon as possible to the Captain's Paypal account.

Q. How do members receive the prize?

A. The team Captain receives the prize for the whole team and it is the Captain's responsibility to send the members their share.

Q. My information was already processed, how do I receive the prize?

A. If the Paypal information and the form are already processed, the prize will be sent to the Captain's Paypal account, in the following week after the Cycle ends.

Q. I have sent the information required, but I have not received any prize?

A. In this case, as soon as the information is received and processed, the prize will be sent. If you didn't receive it in a few days, contact an admin to find out more about it.

How to Join HoN Tour and Play HoN Tour Matches

Q. How do I join HoN Tour?

A. In order to play in HoN Tour you need to follow the next steps:

- Step 1) Login into your HoN account and click "Register" in order to register your account for HoN Tour.

- Step 2) Register or join a Team

- Step 3) Once in a team, your team needs to be enrolled in an event, and you to show up for the matches.

Q. Where do I find information about how to play the matches?

A. You can find all information about how to join and play HoN Tour matches at "2. Match Play"

Q. My HoN Tour button isn't appearing.. what do I do?

A. If the HoN Tour button isn't working make sure you: have a scheduled match by going to your team profile and clicking the "matches" tab, have all mods disabled and are on the right account. If you have done all of these things and the button still does not appear please contact an admin for assistance.

Q. Q. Ready up and Forfeits...

A. For more information on what happens if you do not ready up and the timer runs out, please read "5. Forfeits"

Q. What happens if players don't show up?

A. If a team has less than 5 members, or doesn't show up entirely, your team must stay in the lobby, all 5 members readied up until the timer runs out, and then you are granted the forfeit win.

Q. My team had 5 members in the lobby but I've received a forfeit?

A. If a team has 5 members in the lobby, but they are not readied up, such team forfeits the match.

Q. Remakes, pauses and disconnects

Q. Captain and co-captain are not present, who is drafting?

A. As of now, members and substitutes cannot be the drafter (Pink/Blue player), if your captain/co- captain is not present, please make sure to appoint someone as captain or co-captain before the start of the round. If this did not happen, contact an admin to assist you.

Scheduling

Q. Where can I find the Schedule?

A. The detailed schedule can be found via the CALENDAR. For your team's schedule, please visit your team panel and look under the "Upcoming Matches" tab.

Q. Can we Reschedule Matches?

A. For more rescheduling, please read "1. Match Scheduling"

Q. What if I'm in playing in a HoN Tour Match and the next round starts?

A. If you're already playing in a HoN Tour match (that is not rescheduled), the opposing team from the NEXT match will wait for you, and no forfeits are granted.

Q. The HoN servers are down but we are scheduled to play our match. What should we do?

A. No team will be penalized in the event that HoN servers are down. Depending on the severity of the downtime, matches may be postponed for up to twenty-one (21) hours, with the condition to not overlap

Teams and Player Specifics

Q. What defines a team?

A. A team is defined as a group of 5 or more players competing in HoN Tour. A team is defined by the individual players, not the name or sponsor of said team. When registering for HoN Tour, a team may register with up to seven players.

Q. My team disbanded mid season, what happens to our Points? Can I get them back?

A. Team Points are removed upon the disbandment of a team.

Q. How does a Team Officially disband in HoN Tour?

A. A team can be disbanded only by its Captain, by clicking the "Disband" button.

Q. How do I register a team / how do I join a team?

A. Once you have registered your account on the HoN Tour website, in order to create a team do the following:

- click "Register Team"

- follow the instruction and fill out the form

- share the team's password with your members

- members go to the team's profile, click "Join Team" button and input the password.

Q. When can I register a team?

A. A team can be created at any time during a HoN Tour Season.

Q. Can I leave my team?

A. Yes, you can leave your team at any time during the HoN Tour season. It does not affect the team Points.

Q. When can I join a team?

A. During the season, players can join a team only between cycles (once a cycle ends, and until the next cycle's Bronze sign ups end), when the rosters are not locked.

Teams are given a maximum of two additions every season. If you need to add additional players you will suffer a 20% Point reduction.

Q. Can I switch teams during the season?

A. Yes, you can leave your current team to join another team, please read the answer from "When can I join a team?" from above.

Q. Difference between Qualifiers and during Season...

A. During the Qualifiers you can perform any roster changes as you wish, but once the Season starts (specifically, once the first event you are enrolled for starts) the system described above is activated.

Q. Can I play for two teams at once?

A. No, you cannot be in two teams at once.

Q. My team is scheduled to play, but I cannot field 5 players, can I add a new member?

A. No. Once a cycle starts you may not add new members to the team.

Q. My team is scheduled to play, but I cannot field 5 players, can I use a ringer?

A. No. Ringing, which is defined as using a player that is not on your team's roster, is strictly prohibited and may lead to forfeiture of matches, points and possibly winnings. Any team found to be account sharing for the purpose of ringing also risks their HoN account and all sub accounts being permanently disabled as this is prohibited by the Heroes of Newerth Terms of Service.

Q. What is the difference between the ranks on hontour.com?

A. The captain of a team creates the password, can kick and add new members, and is the drafter in- game. The co-captain has the same abilities of the captain and takes over as drafter if the captain isn't there. Members and substitutes are players on the team roster.

Q. I registered a wrong account, how do I change that? ( Account swap )

A. If you wish to swap your current registered account with another sub-account, please contact any admin to perform this change.

Streaming

Q. I am currently a streamer not affiliated with a sanctioned shoutcasting team. Am I allowed stream my own matches or shoutcast another player's matches?

A. All Grand Finals matches from each Event Cycle will be exclusively covered by Honcast. Every other match is open to first person streaming and as long as there is a six minute delay.

Q. Can I spectate a HoN Tour match?

A. All HoN Tour matches are played with Lock Pick mode so spectating and mentoring are disabled.

Q. I am an upcoming streamer and would like to cast other people's HoN Tour matches. What do I need to do?

A. Please send an email to [email protected] to receive a streaming application.

Additional FAQs

Q. The team we were playing against blatantly cheated, how do we go about getting this sorted out?

A. Any disputes that arise during gameplay should be addressed after the game finishes. Do not pause a game in an attempt to get an immediate ruling from an Administrator. All disputes are handled by our Administrators. All disputes may be appealed to the Head Admin in the event that you feel you were treated unfairly by an Administrator. Any decision made by the Head Administrator is final. To file a dispute please send an email to [email protected].
