It has been quiet in the Thai scene after the HoN Tour World Finals saw only one team from the HoN crazed country perform well. Neolution eSports.MRR, featuring carry sensation duqui and anchor Chitawan`X, surprised everyone and clinched a spot in the Top 4 of the HoN Tour Global Grand Finals. Now the team has been reformed and is competing for the first cycle championship in Thai HoN Tour.
On the other hand, Neolution eSports.MRR only lost their long-time Support player BomRashapol to rival MiTH, but retained their identity player Chitawan`X and their carry sensation duiqu. Rejoining the squad as a new fifth is Di0rz, a returning member from the team’s DreamHack Winter 2024 run. As a matter of fact the DreamHack Winter 2024 team is almost complete again, minus BomRashapol.
Those changes haven’t affected the standings on the battlefield all too much. MiTH.Hybrid stepped into the footsteps of s2y and took control of the top spot straight away. The squad won 15 of their 17 group matches, netting them a stunning 45 points for a direct seed into the Grand Finals. Fighting for the open slot in said Grand Finals are Neolution eSports.MRR and Turtle Master, as the playoffs have been reduced from four to three competitors. With a full six points as the difference between third and fourth, this will likely increase the competition of the playoff event. On the outside looking in is Snoop dogg, a completely new team sitting at 34 points, barely edging out Shooter eSports with 33 points.
What this means is a showdown between MRR and Turtle Master to start the playoffs, both teams making a bid to challenge Hybrid. The level of competition between the two teams has been seen throughout the regular season, with the equally matched teams tying in their match. On the other hand, first place Hybrid is most likely hoping for Turtle Master to come out on top, as their long-time nemesis MRR had the upperhand in the last clashes, continuing in the group stage with a clean 2-0 sweep.
The clash between these three Thai giants is this weekend, starting June, 14th at 6:30 PM local time | 7:30 AM EDT | 1:30 PM CEST. The Grand Finals are scheduled for June, 15th at 12:30 PM local time | 1:30 AM EDT | 7:30 AM CEST.
