-Hello ShiZzor, can you help us get to you know a bit better?
We are fackyoukurdi korzz support shizzor mid vnsensation suicide pinkykurdi jungler and pewe carry
-You were not too much under the spotlight in HoN, can you tell us about your gaming history?
We started of by tmming together some of us, then that lead to us havign some fun friendly scrims, more like mixes back then, that then lead to us creatign a clan, still not having a thought about going serious and competing agaisnt top tier teams. we then signed up for fun to play Dreamhack Summer online qualifiers, and with some success there and noone really joining a new team we joined forces and started FyKu. Since then its just been moving on and we have all improved as both players and as a team. For me personally i have had some success in CSS with clans, my borther Kristian aswell, Korzz has a past in the TF2 scene so most of us knows what it takes to play top tier, and i guess that has helped us alot:)
-Congratulations on playing the finals today, what are your thoughts on the series?
We thought it would be a even match up with us coming out on top, but that did not happened, we didn't play our best today, everything was a mess, our team is a little emotional, or i am. when we lose first game we gotta get better at refreshing ourself. we play for fun and we were satisfied that we already advance into diamond leauge, so this match was not so important to us, congrats to C1K for the victory they played great.
-Your team name is definitely a strange one. Can you tell me how you came up with this name knowing that it could be irritating and offensive for some people?
Of course, we understand that it is a bit offensive, but here is the truth* in class we had two guys called christian, 1 got called krissi and 1 got called kurdi, just for the fun. he nicked himself ‘’kurdi’’ on HoN--now "pinkykurdi"-- we just thought it would be fun with "fackyoukurdi," and we named it fack instead of fuck incase someone would take it hard:p . We would love to get our name back. As you can see the name is about fun, not racism.
-You have come to a great success on Gold Division. Did you think that you would come this far when you first started HoNTour Cycle 1?
We got a little bit disappointed at the start when we did not qualify for diamond, we think we belong there. I think we are going to come out strong, and be able to stay in the diamond division around 8-10 place. all of us go to school or work, we are tired after that, we dont have to much of the’’real life’’ we are doing what we enjoy. we look at hon as our sport:D hon for us is what gym is for BKID YASSS. our practice schedule is random, we practice when we are all online. 2-3 times a week now
-What allowed you to play Finals today, what characteristic of your team do you think made you come on top versus others?
I think we are just better players than most in Gold division, and our draft is usually pretty strong. We play for fun, and when we lose games we just laugh it away after the match and talk about what went wrong to improve ourself.
And since we have played alot together, not only scrims but TMMing together, we pretty much know each other and in what ways we think, I think that is one of our biggest improvements as well from before, but I guess it's only natural when you play every day. So that is a tip for teams who think they are underachieving: play together, may it be TMM or scrims, it's good for everyone!:)
-Do you have any plans to get better in future, what do you think you have to improve?
Of course we want to become better. We have to practice more, we scrim too little. Follow the Meta game. The drafting is so important. Also practice a little on the communication, but thats pretty good already
-Can you tell us a bit about your team? How did you guys meet and decided to form a team together?
Me and my brother pinkykurdi have always been playing a lot of TMM; we met korzz our support a year ago, he started playing with us. When we got a little higher rating we met pewe and vnsensation. We signed up for DreamHack summer for the fun, our first tourney. We did pretty well and decided to continue playing together.
-Do you have any teams that you’re afraid to face in Diamond Division? Do you think you have what it takes to survive and fight for a top spot in between the best teams?
Hmm, actually i think we can beat most teams. We have been taking games from a lot of top teams in earlier tourneys, I should maybe say Call it Karma since they won today, but in the end I think we will stay in Diamond. We will beat some good teams, we are satisfied if we stay around 8-10 place. But we always hope for the better:)
-Awesome, thanks for doing this. Any last words or shoutouts?
Shoutout to my team: kaugka, cuteashe, kvitulf, TORMODHOMME from valle and all our "fans" if we have any. :) Also shoutout to my thundra. Come at it. Shoutout to "KVITULF/ANDREAS" our manager, he's awesome. He is supporting us with gaming gear when we need it. I almost forgot slasken93, my trollmate. Awesome guy.
The second part of this article will be another small interview with TheJellyfish from Call It Karma.
-Hello TheJellyFish, let us get to know you a bit better.
Hello! My name is Emanuel Källberg, I'm 20 years old from Sweden. Besides playing HoN I love music and I also spend a lot of time writing and recording music with my band.
-Can you tell us about your gaming history?
Before playing HoN I played a lot of WoW but then some friends introduced me to HoN and I got caught immediately. So now I have played HoN since Beta and I am still enjoying it more and more.
-Congratulations on playing in the Finals today, what are your thoughts on the series?
I think it was a really nice series. We played so focused and we always knew what to do. Our main idea was to get FyKu out of their comfort as we knew they love to run MK or Sil. We knew that if we did not allow them to get those heroes they had to try something different and new.
-You lost some games, and won others. What do you think you guys need to improve for the future in HoN Tour?
Everything! You can always get better, and develop as a team and as an individual player. That’s a big reason why this game is so fun to play even after thousands of games.
-You have obviously beat many very good teams to come here, what characteristic of your team allowed you to come on top?
We are open minded to trying out new strategies and new ideas. Everyone on the team always wants improve themselves both as individual players as well as a team.
-Call it Karma, how did you come up with this name and how did you meet your teammates and decided to form a team?
My younger brother Simon (Kallbergz) and I wanted to form our own clan. So almost two years ago we made the clan Call It Karma. The name is taken from a song by Silverstein with the same name.
At the start it was just for fun, and we invited a lot of our irl friends and just played regular games. But as time went on and we got better at the game we wanted to do something more with the clan, so we signed up for some amateur tournaments and started to scrim.
Alme joined the team through some connections that Kallbergz had on his school (shoutout to Pedrin). Deadfruit (also known as Ark0nz) joined Call It Karma in before this tournament but have scrimmed with us way back. We still needed a fifth player so DeadFruit brought in BananaFTW who is now our fifth player.
-When you first registered for the HoN Tour, did you think you would come so far? What were your predictions and thoughts?
I knew that we had the potential to be in Gold, even Diamond, but I was unsure how we would work as a team due to DeadFruit and BananaFTW just joining the clan. When you change people on a team it is always important to get good team chemistry and those things do not come over one night.
-Do you have any teams that you’re afraid to face in Diamond Division? Do you think you have what it takes to survive and fight for a top spot in between the best teams?
I'm not afraid of any teams in Diamond but I think it will be really hard and we have a lot to improve if we want to win games and be able to stay in the Diamond division.
-Do you have any predictions on what you guys may do in the up and coming cycle?
Not really; we will try our best and take it step by step, game by game.
-Thanks for coming up, any other last words or shoutouts?
Shoutout to my team Call It Karma! To our substitute Threesixty, to our former members EUBro and ImCarry, to Fack You Kurdi (It will always be your real name), and shoutout to all the people involved with the HoN Tour for making and running such an awesome event!
Congratulations to both teams for making it to Gold Division Grand Finals! Good luck to them in the Diamond Division!
