And we have a winner!

After two carefully played games, the team of [sG]stayGreen defeated [tdM]Trademark eSports with 2:0! The games were live on HoNcast and you can watch them here if you missed them. There is also an interview with stayGreen after the match, so it is definitely worth checking out! Said swindlemelonzz:

We were really happy with our win. We always felt that we were equal to or better than tdM, at least capable of winning a series once in a while, but we were never able to close them out until yesterday. I'm really proud of the team, and I think we'll do excellent in Thailand, although for now we're just extremely content with the trip. The best part is just going to be watching the finals of the second GSL, and of course not having to frantically train for it. Big shoutout to all the fans, thanks a lot for the support!

This result means that [sG]stayGreen will have all expenses paid when traveling to the GSL main event at the end of march, where they will compete for a prize pool of $60,000.

But all is not lost for [tdM]Trademark eSports and the other teams who participated in the Qualifier but did not make it. Next week we will have the second and last Qualifier round, where another team can qualify to make it to Thailand. Who will it be? We will find out on Monday, February 25 at 4:00 pm EST / 22:00 CET!

A lot of things went wrong, we don't want to point out one mistake. We have things to improve on - and we will. Mass scrims and replay sessions will be our way to prepare for the next qualifier, hopefully that will be enough for us to grab that last spot. With sG out I believe we are the favorites to win; that doesn't mean that we will take it for granted though. [357]QsQ, [coL]compLexityGaming, [TteS]Tt eSPORTS, [LION]Lions eSportsKlubb and a couple of other teams are easily good enough to beat us at any given day, we just have to come in prepared and do our best.

Congrats to [sG]stayGreen and good luck to the other teams for the next Qualifier!
