BMG was first and their first opponents, [HOT]Sauna eSports, were indeed in good shape, managing to stand against the monkey tide and win one of the two games, which scored both teams one point. Later that evening, [AZN]Chopstick Gaming also tried to get at least one game from BMG, but this time the monkeys did not let that happen and finished their opponents off, taking the three points themselves. After this, BMG is now in top position with 11 points from 5 matches and are looking good to go into the Playoffs next weekend.
Thursday was Ex-Sync day and two teams had to stand against them, first [Rea]Reason Gaming and then [AZN]Chopstick Gaming. The match against Sync eSports was over relatively quickly and while Reason certainly belongs among the top four competitive teams, Ex-Sync showed that they ranked above Reason any time, especially in these two games right there. The second match of the day against the Chopsticks also seemed to be a quick affair on paper, but instead of a dull one-sided match we got excitement, close calls and a monstrous, almost 90 minute long game, followed by a second, also very good one. Too bad both games were in favour of Ex-Sync, the guys from Chopstick Gaming kind of deserved to get a point there, but that is how competitive esports goes, the winner is the one who wins the game, not the hearts of the fans. In any case, a good day for Sync, netting 6 more points for a total of 12 in four matches, which puts them in second position and allows them to go into the coming weekend relaxed.
Moving on, this weekend will see the end of the Group Stage and all teams are called onto the battlefield again to use these last matches to get a spot in the Playoffs if possible, or at least not to become 7th or 8th, which would mean Relegation next week. Three teams are in a good position to move on to the Playoffs with only a few more wins: Ex-Sync, BadMonkeyGaming and Reason Gaming. All the other teams are still struggling and every point will count for them, making every match a finals of sorts. So expect high tension and big plays, we will start this Saturday at 12:00 EDT | 18:00 CEST with[Mint]Fresh versus [Rea]Reason Gaming and [coL]compLexity Gaming versus [HOT]Sauna eSports. Both Fresh and complexity still have ambitions towards the Playoffs and only played a few games, so winning here would mean a big step, while Sauna eSports if fighting for survival and Reason Gaming wants to make sure they get into the Playoffs from a good position. Coverage of the matches will be provided by Honcast, so tune in on time and don't miss a thing! Also Good Luck and Have Fun to all the teams!
