Tuesday
[Sync]Sync eSports finally had their premiere for the Cycle on Tuesday. Set to play both matches of the day, they started off early in the evening with their match against [NiK]Nightmare Knights. No doubt they were the favourite in this match and this was visible througout the match. In the first game, Sync grabbed an early advantage and outright crushed the Knights with a Tremble on fire and the other game did not look much better for the Knights, early kills for Sync sealed the fate of Nightmare Knights and gave Sync their first victory and three delicious points.
The second match was then Sync versus [Mint]Fresh and it started out just like the last match, with an early lead for Sync. Fresh managed to get back into the game after a while though and threatened to take over eventually, so Sync had to make use of their advantage, won a teamfight and then proceeded to win the game. The final game of the day had a balanced start for a change, both teams exchanged some kills and moved on to the midgame phase. The game continued to be even here too, only in the early late game Sync was able to gain some ground, win a few big fights and then carry the victory home. Three points for Sync!
Thursday
[BMG]BadMonkeyGaming versus Fresh started the Thursday matches. These two teams have quite a history of ruining each other’s plans at just the right time and looking at the points of both of those teams, BMG could certainly get in the way of Fresh’s aspirations of joining the Playoffs again while getting there themselves at the same time. So Fresh wanted to prevent that and went right ahead with several kills at the start of the game. But BMG were in top shape, and quickly turned it around, creating an immense lead for themselves after twenty minutes. Since there was no bacon to bring home for Fresh anymore, they conceded and hoped the best for the second game. This second game saw BMG continuing their roll, as they destroyed Fresh even faster this time. Three well-deserved points for the monkeys and a setback for Fresh.
Second and last match of the day had Sync eSports and [2ero]TwoZero fight it out. Sync was clearly the favourite here, but TwoZero fought hard and managed to stay even for the longest time in the first game, even looking good to win it for a bit. But the experience and teamplay of Sync came into play in this almost hour-long game and eventually they won the decisive teamfight and won the game for themselves. All hopes were now on the second game for TwoZero, after all, every point here was important. Again, they managed to keep up with Sync eSports in the early game, but slowly lost ground with every minute being at a significant disadvantage after half an hour. One teamfight later, the game was decided and Sync took all three points home, not sharing anything with TwoZero, who played pretty well that evening.
That's all for the weekday matches, more HoN is coming very soon, the second weekend of the Group Phase is drawing near and will start on Saturday at 12:00 EST | 18:00 CET, with Honcast covering the matches of course.
